Taking care of yourself
Before learning about what you can do to continue to help your loved one, keep in mind a few things concerning your own care.
Monitoring for side effects
Going through treatment can be overwhelming for your loved one, but there are ways for you to help ease their burden, support their care, and provide their care team with helpful information
Help your loved one by keeping track of how they are feeling throughout their treatment and by noting any changes to their normal routine. For example:

Are they losing their appetite or have there been changes to their eating habits?

Are they experiencing nausea or vomiting?

Are any mouth sores they experienced getting worse or making it hard for them to eat or drink?

Has their mental well-being changed significantly?

Do they talk about dry eyes, eye pain, eye redness, eye swelling, eye irritation, increased tears, or other eye problems?

Do they have trouble breathing/shortness of breath, a cough, fever, or other new or worsening breathing symptoms?
Your care and attention are very important. If you notice any changes to your loved one's health, gently discuss it with them and assist them in reporting any side effects to their care team
